SSD — Solid State Drive
📖 What is it?
SSDs are storage devices that use flash memory chips instead of spinning disks, offering much faster speeds than HDDs.
⚙️ How it works
SSDs store data in NAND flash memory cells. NVMe SSDs connect directly to the CPU via PCIe lanes for maximum speed.
🗂️ Types
- SATA SSD (older interface)
- NVMe M.2 (fast, compact)
- PCIe SSD (enterprise)
- U.2 (server)
